MAGIC KINGDOM PARK–When Walt Disney World Resort closed its gates in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, it also saw the closure of the beloved live entertainment offerings, Guests regularly enjoy.
Since Disney Parks reopened, live entertainment has seen the slowest comeback with most offerings being limited, modified or completely discontinued altogether.
On February 25, 2022, one of the most popular live shows made its triumphant return in a revamped version to celebrate Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th Anniversary. Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire, formerly known as Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire, is now showing daily on the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage at Magic Kingdom Park.

The new version of the show features a new song in the opening and finale scenes with the original middle sections of the original show intact. These scenes feature hit Disney films, The Princess and the Frog, Tangled and Frozen.

I had the privilege of performing in Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire when the show opened in 2016, so it was a very magical experience for me to return last weekend and see the new version of the show. After all, like the song says, it’s “where the magic feels like home!”
