WASHINGTON D.C. The President will once again be absent from this year’s White House Correspondent’s dinner.
The “Bernie and Sid” radio show on 77 WABC Radio interviewed Trump Thursday. When asked about the annual dinner the President said he “probably won’t do it”.
President of the White House Correspondents’ Association, Margaret Talev, said Friday that,
“The White House has informed us that the president does not plan to participate in this year’s dinner, but that he will actively encourage members of the executive branch to attend.”
This comes as little surprise given President Trump’s absence from 2017’s dinner. This was reportedly due to the continued belief the news media is “dishonest and corrupt!”
White House Press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders will sit in place of the President at the head of the table.
