A Day of Downton Abbey – The Grandeur of the Granthams Is Back

Back today with an all-new episode of The Mix, and I’m spending the whole day talking about my love for Downton Abbey.

In the event you’ve been living under a rock for the past several years, Downton Abbey is the historic fictional story of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants set against the backdrop of their estate called Downton Abbey. The show aired on ITV in the U.K. and PBS in the U.S. and depicted events that took place from 1912 to the mid-1920s.

Now, the Crawley family is back! Transferring from small to the big screen, the upcoming Downton Abbey film adaptation is set to release in September.

The folks over at Focus Features, who are in charge of Downton have made me really happy the last couple of weeks. Why is that you ask? They gave us four character posters to promote the upcoming release of the film adaptation. They also debuted the first two-minute trailer recently at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

While the trailer hasn’t been released to the public as of the time I’m writing this blog, the people who saw it have shared A LOT of information on what it contained.

The main plot point focuses on an upcoming visit to Downton by the King and Queen. The house must come together as a whole to prepare for the royal arrival.

All I can say is I’m super excited to finally see it and hope it will be VERY soon! So excited I just have to share the original teaser trailer that we got around the holidays last year.

Let me know your thoughts on all things Downton! I would love to hear from you.
